Juneteenth Tea 2023

Juneteenth Tea

This year the Juneteenth Tea sold out and we were able to connect with 50+ Black Women. Our Juneteenth Tea was sponsored by the 1619 Project Committee from Plymouth Church United Church of Christ in Des Moines, IA. Their generosity helped us to continue to provide Free activities that are designed to empower, educate, encourage, and support Black women on their Health Journey.

Policies, Health Care, & The Black Family

We held a forum on how policies affect the Black family in Health Care on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Drake University. Our guest speakers were Claire Celsi, State Senator; Betty Andrews, President of the Iowa-Nebraska NAACP State Area Conference of Branches; and Dr. Judy Walker, MD, Pediatric Critical Care. The event was FREE and open to the public and was made possible through the Equity Challenge Grant provided by United Way.
